Crimean War: Captain Charles A. Fay

The French Captain Charles Alexandre Fay (1827-1903) on General Bosquets staff (Roger Fenton, Crimea, 1855).

In 1867 his book 'Souvenirs de la guerre de Crimee 1854-1856' was published.

next episode: Niagara

  1. The Crim must have been the Afghanistan of the 19th century. As usual your pictures are very special!

  2. That's an unusual pose Rob. Leaning on the doorpost in a relaxed manner, hand on hip, legs crossed and gazing into the distance, face shown in profile rather than looking directly at the camera. I like it.
