Conwy is a town on the north coast of Wales.
The city walls were build in the 13th century by King Edward I, as part of the conquest of Wales by the English.

I hadn't realised the walls enclosed the town quite so compactly. Thanks for posting the photos. I often come across vintage views of Conwy, I'll have to scan and post a few.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a place I have visited, both as a young child and as an adult. For some reason it pops up regularly on pictorial calendars I buy!
